nvk_LOOPMAKER 2
Turn selected items into seamless loops in Reaper
Cutting a seamless loop by hand means finding a clean loop point and crossfading the end into the start, one item at a time. The script does it for every selected item at once, at zero-crossings, and you can listen to the loop while you adjust it.

Hear the loop point
A loop cut straight from a recording clicks and jumps each time it repeats. Play this one, then switch between a plain cut and the loop nvk_LOOPMAKER makes, and change the crossfade Length and zero-crossing Offset.
Longer crossfades make a smoother transition from the end to the start, and a shorter loop.
Moves where the script looks for the zero-crossing, so the loop starts at a different one. At 0% it looks in the middle of the item.
The sound is synthesized in your browser to show what happens at the loop point. In Reaper, the script does the same to each item you select: it starts and ends the loop at a zero-crossing, and crossfades the item's end into its start.
Hear a Shepard tone
Shepard Tone mode glides an item's pitch, cuts it into pieces, and plays the pieces on top of each other, so the loop seems to rise or fall forever. Compare it with a plain loop of the same item, and change Loops and Pitch.
More loops cut the item into more pieces that play at once, and make the loop shorter.
How far the pitch glides across the item, up or down.
The sound is synthesized in your browser. In Reaper, Shepard Tone mode does this to each item you select. The fades here are straight, as with the Crossfade Curve at 0%.
How it works
-
Select items
Select one or more items in Reaper. Each one becomes its own loop.
-
Run nvk_LOOPMAKER
Set the number of loops and the crossfade Length. Press Space to hear the loop while you adjust it.
-
Apply
Click Apply or press Enter. With Glue on, each loop is rendered to a single file.
Features
Several items at once
Every selected item becomes a loop in one run. Match length of overlapping items keeps loops on stacked tracks the same length.
Live preview
While the script is focused, press Space to hear the loop as you change the settings, then apply when it sounds right.
Loop variations
Set Loops above 1 to cut several loops from one item. They blend into each other with sample-accurate transitions, so a game can play them in random order.
Zero-crossing loops
Every loop starts and ends at a zero-crossing. If the one the script finds isn't a good loop point, Offset moves where it looks for another.
Fit to the time selection
With the option on, loops match the length of your time selection, and the item is extended and duplicated if it's too short.
Glue and rename
Glue renders each loop to a new file. Prefix, suffix, and numbering name the results, and item colors set them apart from the originals.
Settings
The window opens with the main controls. The rest are in sections you open when you need them.
- Loops and Glue
- How many loops to make from each item, and whether each one is glued into a single file when you apply.
- Position
- Space between loops, shuffled variation positions, snapping to whole seconds, and matching the length of overlapping items.
- Crossfade
- Length, Curve, and a Max length, so long loops don't get needlessly long crossfades.
- Shepard Tone
- Glides an item's pitch and stacks pieces of it into a loop that seems to rise or fall forever. Pitch sets how far it moves.
- Zero-Crossing
- Offset sets where the script looks for zero-crossings, and the section lists the ones it found in each item.
- Name
- Prefix, suffix, separator, and numbering for the new loops, item colors, and removing file extensions.

Reviews
The first one was great, but nvk_LOOPMAKER 2 is just AMAZING! Easy to use, clean UI and a lot more customisation compared to the first. It's something i use daily so definitely recommend.
Making loops manually = L
Making loops with nvk_LOOPMAKER = Huge dub
FAQ
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. The script includes a 14-day trial with no card required. Install it by following the install guide, then run it in Reaper. When the license prompt appears, leave the field blank and click OK.
Do I need a time selection?
No. Without one, the script uses the whole item. Matching loops to the time selection is an option you can turn on.
Which versions of Reaper and which systems are supported?
Reaper 7 or later on macOS and Windows.
What do I need before installing?
Reaper, ReaPack, the SWS/S&M Extension, ReaImGui, and the js_ReaScript API. The scripts install through ReaPack; the install guide walks through every step.
Can I use my license on more than one computer?
Yes. Each seat may be activated on up to four computers at a time, all used by the same person.
Can I buy licenses for a team?
Yes. Use the team license option at the bottom of this page to choose how many people need it, and you'll get one multi-user key. Questions? Email support@nvk.tools.
